History, Vision, Mission

The Down Syndrome Association of Sudbury (DSAS) was founded in 1988 by a dedicated group of parents aiming to support individuals with Down syndrome and their families. Over the years, DSAS has grown to serve more than 70 families in the Greater Sudbury area, including Manitoulin Island. Parents of individuals with Down syndrome continue to lead the organization, ensuring that our mission is deeply rooted in family support, advocacy, and community involvement.
